Video Interview with Dubai Hotel Complex General Manager, Michael Scully
-
Michael has always enjoyed the informality and naturalness of working at the Mina Seyahi and believes its greatest success is derived from one thing……the ‘Mina Effect’! A relaxed and enjoyable approach to life where one never compromises on the quality of service to its people! Michael hosts a wealth of industry knowledge starting in the jungles of Africa in Sun City where he believes he learned how to create excitement and fun places of entertainment where people want to go! The renowned Barasti is an ideal example of that!
Michael reflects on his past…. not necessarily the individuals he has encountered but also the organizations he has been fortunate enough to learn from in terms of what it is he feels they offer in their philosophies and style and what they allow you as an individual to do within the organization. He identifies two types of management and two types of people in this industry; those who promote development, ideas, selling and promote manning oneself within the organization hence developing business as such. The second are those who stifle who are looking at all aspects of controlling. Michael makes a fascinating comparison with the hotel industry to birds! The feathered kind that is! He believes that you need to be able to spread your wings and fly! To succeed you need to be innovative in your ideas and concepts as nowadays guests do not want the constraints of a bird cage! Our guests are seeking something new, fresh, innovative and exciting to experience! Possessing the vision is crucial, but having the courage to experiment in achieving that vision is key! That is the difference between leaders and followers! Learn more about this visionary inventor who assists his Mina Birds in taking flight with the upcoming ventures at the Mina!

I like much to travel. I would like to know those places so exotic, to travel by Africa, to discover new places and towns. I think that the experience would be very good for me, would open my mind and would know a new form tourism.
