About the Middle East Hotelier Awards 2007:
From the official website: The Hotelier Middle East Awards… They reward the often-unrecognised individuals that make the region’s hotels some of the very best in the world. They give those back-of-house heroes that so often go unnoticed their chance to shine, and bask in the glory bestowed upon them by their peers.
Now in its fourth year, the Hotelier Middle East Awards recognises a broad range of front- and back-of-house roles. From laundry managers to chefs, procurement managers to front office personnel. This year there are 17 award categories.
As in previous years, there is also the grand prize – The Hotelier’s Hotelier of the Year – a category open to anyone that works in hotel operations. This award is for the real unsung hero, who chops vegetables all day, sweeps lobby floors, valets parked cars; cleans rooms, serves coffee, maintains the security of the hotel, and always manages to have a smile and a ‘Can do’ attitude.

At last count, the total number of hotels across all GCC countries stood at 1514, equating to 201,099 rooms Middle East-wide. More than 3000 properties are now open for business.
In Dubai alone, there are 276 hotels boasting 26,155 rooms. New builds will be opening thick and fast come 2008 and new hotel markets are emerging, particularly in the mid-market and shared ownership categories.

The publication therefore provides suppliers to the hotel trade a convenient and effective way of directly impacting the purchasing decisions of existing and prospective customers.
