Hotel Jobs – A Newbies Journey to moving and working in Dubai
Opportunities available in the fastest growing and most exciting region of the world Dubai That’s what I read about four months ago in my universities career office and right about now was when I should have been starting to pack.
My name is Sean Griffiths and I’m 20 years old, I live in Melbourne, Australia, I am currently studying hospitality and tourism, working part time as a hotel receptionist and night manager and my experience has successfully gained me an entry-level position working in a five star hotel in Dubai.

I approached Young Hotelier with the offer of doing a regular write up, to talk about my move to Dubai and to talk a little bit about myself. I believe that my experience may benefit others wanting to make the same move to Dubai or any other country around the world in fact in this Industry. By following my own personal experiences and even my mistakes I can then hopefully give you a better understanding of what to expect. My goal is to try to make your move to Dubai and into this industry just that little bit more easier while also following me on my journey.
Over the past four months I have purchased expat guide books to Dubai and even started learning some of the Arabic tongue. With my initial start date only meant to be two weeks away, I should be packing but construction delays on the Palm Jeremiah has ultimately pushed back my start date several months. But never the less things are still happening and I will still be going to Dubai. Stay tuned…
